FIRST IMPRESSION: Clinique Superbalanced Silk Makeup

I have been testing out new foundations this summer and the most current one is the Clinique Superbalanced Silk Makeup, which retails for $25. I got matched to the shade 09 Silk Bamboo. Side note - I personally will not let another employee at Dillards color match me ever again, or apply any makeup for that matter. I've had various consultants assist me and every time it is a huge fail. I'm so disappointed with the store's customer service and training that they claim to have, but I suppose that's a whole other story. This is why I'm a Sephora devotee. I'm just sayin'...

Anyway, down below is a photo when I first applied the foundation and the second was taken 5.5 hours later. It was really hot (108°) and humid and I was out running around during that time. I have combination/oily skin that is most definitely more oily during the summer. I did use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light as my base. I use a primer with all of my foundations. The product goes on smoothly & evenly and I find it to be moisturizing upon application. The product claims to have a natural-matte finish that "controls oil, yet hydrates where needed." I didn't find this to control my oil at all. In fact, I could actually see the product sitting on my skin, mostly just on my nose. I'm going to try the foundation again using a different setting powder and maybe a different primer to see if I can make it work for me. I will post an update if there's a distinct difference. I really wanted to love this product, especially because of the decent price tag, so I'm going to play around with it some more. Keep in mind I am pretty damn oily. In the winter I will dry up a little bit so it should be good then. But I do think if you're combination/dry or have aging skin this is definitely a better fit for you. Let me know if you've tried this and what your thoughts are.
