Review: L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

It's been some years since I've used drugstore makeup. Don't get me wrong, there are some great finds at the drugstore. I just don't feel like having to find them. The activity of trying to pick out a foundation color match with no swatches or testers, then getting the product home and finding out it doesn't match or it just doesn't work how I need it to is tedious and a waste of money. However, with that said I decided to spread my wings and head into foreign territory. I picked up L'oreal True Match, which is a favorite of many, and the new L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, which we are going to talk about today.

L'oreal claims the following with Infallible Pro-Matte:

"UP TO 24HR MATTE WITHOUT THE FLAT.
AIR-LIGHT TEXTURE, DEMI-MATTE FINISH.
THE PRO LOOK OF LONGWEAR."

Available in 12 shades for $12.99. Some places may be cheaper depending where you shop. I had to purchase two shades for a color match - 108 caramel beige and 109 classic tan. It is very difficult to tell which shade you'll need from the packaging and as you'll see below, there's a pretty big difference in the two colors.

I am pretty impressed with this formula. I have combination/oily skin and this foundation is basically a great combination of a matte finish with a glow. The claim that it's a "matte without the flat" holds true. I have gotten some breakouts since using this product, which is a bummer. I will continue to use it to see if they go away. Drugstore products tend to irritate or break out my skin. It does wear well throughout a full day, but I do need to powder at least once. However, that is normal for me majority of the time. The only foundation that I've found to not need any touching up whatsoever is Smatchbox Studio Skin. Holy grail status.

Here are some photos of me wearing the foundation after 4.5 hours and no touch ups.

I hope this review was helpful. I finally have the opportunity to focus more on my blog so I'm taking advantage. I've been inspired to try to make this into something so we'll see how things go. Thanks for taking the time to read and please share if you liked it!
